Best tyre pressure gauge I have ever bought.
The main thing I like is how it retains the pressure after you disconnect it, so you can easily read it, brill for an OAP like me, then press the stalk button to let it out. Fits snugly and comfortably in palm of hand and thank god it doesn’t need batteries like the previous 6 I have bought and ditched, usually stop working altogether.

    Quality Equipment
I’m pleased to say I’m delighted with my purchase. It feels well made and is simple to use. Taking a pressure ready is straightforward and there is no loss of air.Unlike the useless bit of kit I previously bought from a well known tool making company which feel apart after only a few weeks. I wish I’d purchased from this manufacturer before

    Happy so far…
The TireTek Premium Tyre Gauge appears to be reasonably well made and ‘reasonably accurate’ as far as I can tell — but see below.I’ve only just received it, and am relatively happy so far. It’s nevertheless interesting to note that quite a number of reviewers report that the performance has deteriorated over time in terms of accuracy and leakages. It will therefore be interesting to see how mine performs after it’s had some use.One point on the design:I’d prefer it NOT to have the swivelling end or the pressure release button – these are unnecessary gimmicks and potential failure points, and may explain why some customers have experienced performance issues over time.Nevertheless, I’ve so far found it to be a better offering than any of the other gauges I’ve purchased from UK motoring stores, none of which have come even close to providing a consistent measure of vehicle tyre pressures compared with my dealership’s pressure settings. How accurate is ‘accurate’?You can only determine the level of accuracy of any pressure gauge if you also have access to a reliable reference device to check it against, and which you can guarantee to be 100 per cent accurate. This is where the challenge lies for most folk. I’ve chosen to use my dealerships’ pressure settings as the only reliable reference.I’ve noted considerable variation between the pressure readings provided by many different brands of tyre pressure gauges and pumps purchased over the years, as well as between those used on service station forecourts, which also vary surprisingly. I currently have a pencil gauge, two footpumps (each with their own gauge), and quick access to three local service stations with tyre pumps/gauges on the forecourts. Regardless of which source I choose to set up and check my car tyre pressures, there is a range of inconsistency between the values shown when subsequently checking the pressures on the other devices. Even when I’ve been certain that my tyre pressures have been close enough to the recommended values using my own gauges, my local car dealership has in the past noted the pressures to be out of spec, either when carrying out a vehicle check or when renewing a tyre, in which case they have set the pressures up with a value that, to varying degrees, appears incorrect on every other gauge I then used to check it with. So can the dealership’s gauge really be the only accurate one out of a total of seven measurement devices? Who knows.I do believe it’s therefore quite hard to find an accurate reference to measure against, unless you have access to industrial measurement gauges that you can guarantee have been properly calibrated to highest standard. In my experience, no two gauges have ever shown 100 per cent agreement, so there’s likely to be a marginal tolerance in pressure readings whatever you buy in this price range, and wherever you check your tyres, no matter how good the product claims to be. This could potentially explain why some reviewers claim this particular product to be so ‘inaccurate’, particularly in light of the fact that the product is described as being manufactured to ‘international accuracy standards’, in which case you would at least expect consistency and a reasonable approximation of tyre pressure, if not a 100 per cent accurate reading.Unfortunately, it’s probably safest, and most realistic, to assume that 100 per cent accuracy may be difficult, if not impossible, to find in a device at this price point. Admittedly, that’s a disappointing assumption, considering the need to ensure your tyre pressures are ‘correct’ for safety reasons. But, for those same reasons, it’s the only one I’m prepared to make, based on real-world experience. For me, this device is presently providing a reading which is closest to my dealership’s pressure setting. Therefore, in the absence of any better way to make a judgement, I’m assuming that, on this basis, it is providing an acceptable measure, at least for the time being.

Excellent product. Easy to use, easy to read
Great product which is very easy to use, very easy to read and very easy to reset.

  5. Marianne

    Gives accurate tyre pressure
Like the accuracy. My air compressor seems not!

  6. Max Longden

    Works well.
Well built, works well and it’s handy. Other tyre pressure gauges don’t make a good seal on the valve which causes air to leak out: defeating the object; this one does not. I will be interested to see how accurate it actually is when the calibration is tested.

    Holds pressure reading, nice.
So far so good. Push it on the valve and it seals nicely. The pressure reading holds on the guage so you don’t have to hold it in place and squint at it, you can stand back up and put your glasses on or hold it at arms length and squint at it when you’ll appreciate that the guage is decently clear and easy to read. Really like this, and massively prefer it to my PCL guage which doesn’t hold the reading and measures to much higher pressures making normal car tyres much harder to read accurately on the scale.

At last a decent tyre pressure gauge
I was looking for a tyre pressure gauge that would be straightforward to use & easy to read. In a period spanning more than 40 years I’ve had them all. For many years I’ve used the (for want of a better description) stick types which have really stood the test of time well & I’ve also used the type with the small round dial. I’ve also tried & been disappointed by various versions of the digital types, all of which were really awkward to use & never seemed to be accurate. Recently when searching the market for a new gauge I came across the Tire-Tek with the large dial which I hoped would make it easier to read the pressure accurately than it would with the more usual small diameter dial. I also liked the rubber cover surrounding the dial, reasoning that it would offer protection to what is quite delicate mechanism, easily damaged by dropping onto hard road or driveway surfaces. It seemed to be reasonably priced also.I ordered it on standard delivery & within a few days I had it. So far I’m really impressed. It appears to be solid & well made & the bleed deflation feature is useful too albeit slightly awkward to use until you get used to it. The swivel chuck is a really good feature, since it means that you don’t have to stand on your head to view the dial if the valve is at the top of the wheel when you’re checking the pressure. That was all fine but I still needed to check its accuracy to be confident. Therefore I measured the inflation of the two new tyres, which I’d had fitted to my car a few days before. I use STS Tyre Pros & was extremely confident that their gauges would be regularly recalibrated. Further I believe that they would have inflated the tyres accurately to the recommended pressures with nitrogen, which leaks less, instead of compressed air. When I checked the pressures of those tyres when cold with the new gauge it read exactly 2.4 bar which is the recommended inflation pressure so I’m confident that the gauge reads accurately. On the basis of the above assessments & test I feel that I can reliably recommend the Tire-Tek gauge. I am an automotive design engineer by profession, not a professional reviewer & have received no inducements to make the initial purchase or to give this recommendation.

Hola.
