Customers say

Customers like the adjustability and ratchet of the garden shears. For example, they mention that the handles can be shortened and extended, and the ratchetet mechanism works well. They appreciate the clean cutting action and the ease of use. That said, some complain about the stability and weight.

    Functional
Very functional , sharp and easy to use.

    Robust and sharp!
As someone who does a lot of hedge work, I needed some loppers that were robust and weren’t going to let me down. They arrived and I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy they were. The handles are also extendable giving you much more reach when trimming. The blade is also super sharp and makes cutting a breeze. The ratchet system on it is also brilliant. If you’re cutting a thicker branch, you can ratchet the handles open and shut to create more leverage which makes cutting a lot easier. They are on the heavier side which, if you’re someone like me who wants that robustness and can handle the extra weight, I highly recommend them. If you’re maybe a bit older and have to do work higher up where you’re holding them for a sustained period, maybe go for something lighter. For £24 I highly recommend them as they’re Spear & Jackson so you’re getting quality for the price of some own brand versions from popular hardware shops.

    Up to the task
These were brought to prune our rose bushes down, and they defiantly do the job. As I suffer from arthritis in the hands and shoulders using secateurs was getting harder to do so brought these to do the work, easy to hold, and easy to get right into the bushes. super sharp blade that cut like a knife through butter. The only thing I don’t like is the extending handles as they feel flimsy to me, but as yet i have not used the extended handles.

    Great &Not too heavy.
Does the job well. Very happy with these loppers. Very sharp!

  5. D J Wise

    Excellent lopper
Quick delivery. Reasonable price for what they are. I’m no engineer but the quality of this seems to be very good indeed. They work very well and the telescopic handles are a great extra. This item has made managing my garden much much more easier. I am 66 and knackered and these help me easily do things that I would struggle with.

  6. Patricia Pengelly

    Clean cut of substantial branches
Always had bypass type before. Will definitely go for anvil now. These are sturdy. Bit heavy due to extendability. If only you could get these in a shorter version . It’s good to be able to reach higher branches but realistically, too heavy for geriatric hands.

  7. GN

    Excellent loppers
Very pleased with these.Had to cut down a large buddleia and the got though a lot of the branches. Nice and sharp. The ratchet and extendable arms made it easy for me. (Short person)

  8. Tej Lutchmun

    Works really well.
These are brilliant!!! They cut so well. The telescopic arms give it a very long reach for those high branches. Can easily cut up to an inch thick. Gave four stars because I used them for about an hour and my arms started to ache as they are not too lightweight. I’m a 49 year old man. I think someone more elderly might struggle using these for long periods.
