Comfortable to wear when performing prayer
Not only was this thobe the perfect length but it was also very comfortable. Made from good quality cotton, the material is lightweight and soft. The thobe features 2 decent-sized pockets on either side, giving enough space for your keys, wallet and phone. Plus it has additional buttons on the arms which makes it easy to roll up when performing ablution.The button hooks on the chest and neck are elastic which means they are flexible enough to go over the buttons, yet are still a little tedious to do, and you may have to lift the bottom of the thobe when going up a steep flight of stairs as the material isnt as stretchy.Performing prayer is comfortable enough but obviously, there is a little restriction on the legs which means you can’t sit in certain positions, hence you’ll feel those long khutbahs while you sit on a hard surface with your ankle bone digging into the floor. But for basic prayers at home, this works well. My only regret is that I should have perhaps gone for the darker grey colour, which would have looked more classy compared to the white.

I have no religious or cultural connection to a garment like this. My girlfriend likes to wear a kaftan style around the house, so I was happy to give this a try.I find the button loops are bit strange and fiddly, perhaps I’ve just never encountered this way of doing buttons, so I’m awkward with it.I’ve only really tried it on. I find it very comfortable and very flattering to wear. I’m looking forwards to wearing this around the house, when the weather gets warmer.
