After ruining a wheel on a kerb in a multi-storey car park (why do they make the lanes so narrow and the kerbs so big??), I decided to have a go at a DIY refurbishment. I could hardly make it worse. This kit is amazing for an absolute beginner like myself. It has everything in you need – including instructions that make sense. The filler dries as hard as a rock but is easily worked into shape using the micro-files provided. The sandpaper will give you a good final finish. The paint and lacquer are very forgiving, quick-drying, and with a lovely finish. You can see the end result in the photo. You have to look really hard to know the wheel has been sprayed. There is enough to do 2 whole wheels. Advice for other beginners; I needed several goes with the filler (but you only need a very small amount), smooth the filler with a wet finger, take your time filing and sanding (a very light “dust” spray of paint will let you know if the surface is good to go or if you need to prepare it more), spray your wheel off the car on a horizontal surface, mask the wheel well and paint the whole thing, and do lots of thin coats rather than 1 thick coat. I was probably more worried about the colour than anything else. It is a generic silver but was a near-perfect match for my Audi. I did both wheels on the same side of the vehicle in the end. Cannot tell you how pleased I am with the result.

nice and easy
very pleased with results, not professional finish but at a fraction of price and done by a novice then no complaints. As you can see by the before during and after pics … used a mouse sander with various grade paper to give smooth finish. .. take time amd dont be scared to sand down.

Good kit let down by the putty/filler
The quality of the spray paint, files, sandpaper and instructions were all good however the putty they supply is absolute rubbish! It sticks to everything except the wheels, it goes off far too quick, itâs like trying to mould blue tack to the rim! I ended up buying proper alloy wheel filler instead which works much better as itâs thinner and spreads much easier to give a smoother, better finish. If the kit was supplied with a more traditional filler this would easily be a 5 star product.

Works well and has comprehensive instructions
Pretty impressed with this product, which I used for my first ever repair of an alloy wheel graze. The stuff not included in the kit, you will certainly have at home. The instructions are very thorough. The files and sandpaper included are just right for the job. The filler putty is very easy to use and sets rock solid. The silver paint included happened to be a good match for my wheel. I didnât get a perfect result – but I put that down to my inexperience and the fact that (a) I didnât take the wheel off the vehicle and -so- (b) I used a fine paintbrush to apply the paint and gloss coat, rather than spray direct from the cans. Nevertheless, happy with the result and would use the product again if required. Certainly it is possible to get a very smooth repair to the defects in the wheel using the files, sandpaper and putty. Itâs then up to you how much time you want to invest in getting a superb result. By taking the wheel off, deflating the tyre, and spraying the whole wheel (just check the paint supplied is an acceptable match with the others) I believe you could get a 99% result.

Not full kit
I didnât get the item I ordered I ordered a full black alloy wheel repair kit i should of got lacquer, spray paint, files, sandpaper masking tape I didnât get any of these al I got was putty and touch up paint. Well disappointed
