Portable Air Conditioning – Recommended!
Havenât done a lot of reviews previously, but thought this would help people. Seem to be able to spend a lot of money on air conditioning units and this one was more reasonably priced. I have given it 5 stars as does what it says on the tin. If I give you some pros and cons will help your understanding of these units:ProsCan easily cool 1 room or multiple smaller rooms. Has kept the bedroom and landing cool.Powerful fan with 2 settingsEasy to understand controls, donât need to use the remoteLooks better than some of the other units.Has an inbuilt collection for the water (reduces humidity). I empty every so often, does not need permanent connection as internal reservoir is fine.I have run it continually for over 24hours at one time and no issues to report. Have now used it on and off for a couple of weeks and no issues.ConsThe unit is heavy, but this will be the same with all proper airconditioning units as the main unit is basically the mechanics of a fridge. Has wheels, but if you want to take up and down stairs you need to be able to lift a heavy weight, think small fridge.Air conditioning units are noisy, but they all are unless you have a fixed one for several thousand pounds and the motor is then outside. To get round this by some extra flexible ducting and you can put the unit in a separate room and then direct the cool air into the room you need. Have slept with it going in another room.By some extra flexible ducting anyway as the semi rigid pipe that comes with it is very good but too short to put the exhaust out of the fanlight window.I would recommend this product for use in the UK where we have spells of hot weather. The unit can be stored away when not in use.

Ice cool ! great at keeping the heat under control
After scouring the internet for best prices (b&q, Wickes, Screwfix) I found Amazon to have better pricing, free delivery and actual stock, it was the best option! I never heard of this manufacturer but thought if no good Amazon has great returns policy / warranties etc. It arrived next day, ordering during the crazy May heatwave, outside was 30c in my lounge we had 16c! using the ac unit.I had to get a hinged window Velcro sheet to connect the ‘included’ hose to (also included a sliding window mount but I don’t have any of those windows). used the remote control to turn on and choose required temperature and within the hour could feel the coolness.Bad side is, noise but to be honest it’s no worse than a washing machine on spin. Annoying to have conversation or watch tv but no problem for me i live alone and can use headphones for TV etc.Overall, I’m happy with the unit, delivery was quick, the price is acceptable (if you have looked into a permanent a/c and hiring an electrician you’ll have a comparison) it cools quickly and very well (oddly on unit lowest setting was 21c, but with the remote can be 16c). I’m sure it uses a fair bit of electric but I’m yet to receive a bill to confirm.Cools so much better than a traditional standing or desktop fan, and I need it cool as I have heart failure and the heat effects my blood pressure causing fluid to collect in feet and lungs. Usually, i end up in hospital for it every summer but not this year! ****

A good unit with a problem
I’ve been using portable air conditioners for over 20 years now and this is the third unit I have bought. Most of my impressions of this unit are favourable. First, and most important, the air cooling function is very effective and serves quickly to cool a medium-size bedroom which gets the sun in the evening. The remote control works well and the noise level is, to me, acceptable. The unit looks good, is easy to move on its wheels and seems to offer good value for money. On the downside, the window attachment kit is a mystery to me and I can find no way of attaching it to a standard UK window frame. The real drawback is the tank-emptying. Despite what the manual says, the tank seems to fill up very quickly during normal air cooling and emptying it is a major nuisance. The outlet is almost at floor level so it is near-impossible to get the stopper out and get something in place to catch the water. I have already had two incidents of soaked carpet. Attaching the hose, which seems to have a mind of its own, is fiddly and not too secure. Perhaps I will find a solution to this but I am puzzled that this design issue should not have been better addressed as it is a real fly in the ointment of what is otherwise a good unit. I may revert to the manufacturers for advice.Update – I think I have solved the problem by placing the unit on top of a very low and very strong Japanese table which was previously serving as a monitor stand. This gives a few inches under the water tank so will enable draining without soaking the carpet or attaching the unsightly extension hose. While I still feel that this problem should have been designed out I remind myself that this unit offers a lot for the price so I will not complain too much!

Great value for money, does a great job.
Very good value for money and does the job. It is compact, appears well made and is very smart. We use it in the bedroom on the First Floor of our house which due to loft insulation gets styflingly hot end of May through mid-September. Do read the instructions, but it is simple to set up. Low noise level, much less than our large fan and more acceptable sound. It includes the exhaust hose and an adjustable solid window kit which is suitable for our sash windows, but check the length and if suitable for your particular windows. You may need to research the options of these kits on the Amazon website for something that is precisely suitable for you particularly windows. Only just installed so cannot give a longer term report , but expect it will last a good few years.
