    Fantastic mat
Use in the winter on the snow and was great 🤗

Excellent value for such a compact, warm, lightweight pad.
A really well put-together piece of kit. I am pursuing a highly unusual “no-rucksack” approach to wild-camping and mountain-running, so I needed the smallest, lightest winter pad I could get my hands on. The Apollo met the brief in every particular – it tucks neatly into the side-pouch of my waist-pack yet unfurls into 3.2″ of cosy plushness. As a test, I slept on the summit of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike (3209′, 978m) on pretty much the longest night of the year and was plenty comfortable Temperature was around 0C/32F. I have submitted a more detailed write-up of my experience to British magazine “The Great Outdoors” and hope to get it published soon.

    Awesome compact Matt
Great Matt. We’ve used it and it’s durable and comfortable. We take it with us on our travels and it’s compact enough to take on my carry on. Highly recommended!

The message that came in the box is really sweet. The stats on it look great. I took it out for the first time today. Inflated easily. It’s narrower than I expected and plenty long for me (5’8). The packaging was great. It’s very thick. It’s smaller than the air thermarest I had but narrower (my arms fall off the sides). The material is comfortable. I am generally not a fan of air mattresses and I’m happy with my purchase. Other than wishing it was more wide than it was long since I’m a side sleeper I would definitely buy it again. The pump bag is plenty large and works great. I could definitely fit my sleeping quilt and mattress in here. It’s very light and for someone with a bad back I’m very thankful for that. There seems to be a few dark splattered spots that almost look like oil on the green.

    Excelente colchón para invierno.

Used for the first time on a 13 day hike along the 230k Larapinta trail. It could be a little wider as you can roll off the mat unless on a completely level surface. When you move your body position it is quite noisy. I did have complaints from other camping members regarding the noise so had to camp some distance away. I would not have purchased if I knew how noisy it was.

Apolloair(5.2 r value, Regular)Overall I like the Apolloair pad. It’s lightweight, warm, comfy, easy to use, durable, and a bit noisy.WARMTHAs mentioned in the description the pad is a four season pad which means it can be used in winter, but it has not been tested by the ASTM standard. The pad currently doesn’t have any insulation, the technology used to retain heat is the thickness(air) and the 40D nylon material that contains TPU composites which has low thermal conductivity(it’s the point, it keeps your heat from transferring into the ground). The company also stated “…it can handle up to -3 degrees F and -19 C…we have tested it ourselves on a 14 F trip and it performed well!”. That being said I would not recommend using a quilt with this pad, use a sleeping bag and a good one until it’s tested via ASTM standards. In my use I never felt cold, but I was using it in California and the weather was about 40° F with a sleeping bag. I never used it in a harsh cold winter. Others have stated they used it in the freezing cold winters in Europe using a sleeping bag and were comfortable all night. I would proceed with caution if you plan going into extreme temperatures which could be life or death.NOISEThe noise when moving is definitely there, it’s not bad. When they say some pads sound like a “frito bag” this sounds like those paper tortilla chip bags or those paper grocery bags. This is typically the trade off for its lightweight.WEIGHTThe pad is very light at just over a pound (17oz) with the included air pump sack (3oz), which makes the pad really easy to inflate when using. I don’t recommend using your mouth, use the pump sack it takes less than a minute with less work, be lazy.COMFORTThis pad is very comfortable. The baffles are horizontal, distributing your weight more evenly and helps if you sleep on your side. The size is just right at about 6 feet and 3.5 inches tall with a sleek profile and taper so if you are a back sleeper and want mummy efficiency this is for you. If you roll around or you are bigger than 6 feet you may want a bigger and bulkier setup.DURABILITYThe durability is great as far as punctures it has held up and no leaks. I never needed a patch and most of its use has been in a tent. I don’t actively try to damage it, but it survived me falling on it while inflated and it didn’t pop or start leaking.PRICEWith the price being less than $100 for its R value is great, its only draw is that it has not been tested. No way to verify, means you have to take their word for it. Taking everything in to consideration this is one of those best bang for your buck sleeping pads.

I bought this Sleeping Pad based on the reviews for Budget Cold Camping and Underpad R-values for a backpacking trip I planned for a couple days. The days were said to drop to -1 to -2 in the night, so right before the trip, we planned for a little worse temperature than that and the Underpad has a high r-value, so I did not feel concerned sleeping in worse temperatures. To the actual experience, the idea of the air bag for inflating is a great idea to stop moisture but if its raining and you have to do it outside not sure how well it’ll prevent moisture from going into the underpad from the air. Surprisingly, the air bag once you give it a little practice is actually pretty easy to use and inflate the underpad. The plug mechanism is a great design and was easy to open and close the valve/plug when inflating.I am currently 6ft on the dot, 160lbs, and the underpad was just long enough for me to fit; just wide enough as well as i am pretty wide for it to not feel like laying on a bench in the gym. I also have my arms pretty close to me if you tend to spread your arms out they may be off the underpad. So that was good, of course make sure to measure it out as I did before purchasing. It unpacks and packs up very easily and compact compared to many other underpads, it just a little bigger than a thick round pencil case. Weight is pretty good compared to competitors, you can ditch the air bag and use your mouth to inflate it if you do not care about moisture in the underpad and want to reduce weight. You could use air bag as a dry bag if you choose. It happen to snow and drop to -6 in the nights I was staying and i did not feel the cold ground or cold underside so that was big plus. I also tend to sleep on my sides and one of my concerns was that my elbows/pointy hips would go through the underpad and hit the ground. However, when inflated all the way I was perfect and it was pretty comfy and strong. The thickness was surprising and pretty good comparing to my partners underpad. I would suggest practicing blowing it up with the air bag before going on a trip because you want to be efficient in doing it where the air bag is full of air each time. Also, to check for holes or damages which mine was perfect no leaks or any damages when used but also comes with a patch kit which is another big plus. The underpad is not square but I did not need a square underpad. The underpad is not noisy and getting on it and off it makes little to no noise. Did not loose volume during the night but as per most people tell you to top up your underpad before sleeping which i did so still great. For the price tremendous value would definitely recommend to a friend.
