Effective device
Bought on a recommendation from fellow working dog teams to keep the dog cool in the boot of the car. Light, compact, easy to set up and use. Multiple fan speeds. Relatively quiet, certainly quieter than my tower fan so may get used in the house at night too. In a small space, small tent, car boot, on your desk etc would be pretty effective. No need to wait for it to cool itâs immediately a chilled effect.

Not good at all
My rechargeable hand held fan that cost 3.99 at timu, is better than this product. It blows, literally. Its not cool, the light is blinding. It’s noisy. I jave notjing good to say about this shabby excuse of a personal ac unit.

Expensive and slow delivery of both cooler and replacement cartridges
At first this product performed well as a personal cooling system. The controls are simple and effective. Topping up the water is quick and easy. USB C power supply makes this a great portable unit. The fan is ‘relatively’ quiet. Overall this is a very considered design.However… The indicator light is too bright if planning to use this at night. I’ve covered mine with insulator tape and it still shines through. The backlight is very useful, but it is blue and I would have preferred red, again for night use.Most importantly, delivery of the unit is slow (although this may have been exacerbated by Covid19). Also after 3 weeks of frequent use, the filter began to smell and shows clear signs of bacteria growth on the back edge. Replacement filter cartridges take almost two weeks to deliver and the total cost (with delivery in the UK) is almost half that of the original cooler. I’m not sure it’s worth further investment and may just buy an alternative.

I got this a couple of years ago to use during the summer when I was working from home in a room that had a huge, bay window that amplified the heat from the sun. Immediately after setting it up the first time, I knew this was a great purchase. Cooled me down so fast.I used it for that whole summer, and even now that I am no longer working from home, we get use of it during those hot summer nights to cool the bedroom down a bit.Be aware that it is a personal space air cooler. It will not cool a whole room unless you pull a few tricks like aim the cold air in front of a larger fan that can then spread the cool air.10/10 recommend.

This is a fan. With cold water that you add. The cooling effect was marginal and not really what some folks may be looking for when searching “portable air conditioner.”That being said, I’m sure it works well as a simple humidifier.

The evaporative cooling technology is old-school and under the right conditions it works great. This is NOT an air conditioner, so if you are expecting something similar to a window unit or car AC you will be disappointed. It can’t cool down a large, hot room. But what it can do, it does really well!Where I live it can get really dry. My husband and I sleep in an upstairs bedroom that is always 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. In the winter if we lower the heater temperature, our daughter gets cold downstairs in her room. In the Sumner if we try to cool off the upstairs with our central AC, it freezes the downstairs. I have vintage windows that won’t hold a window unit, and if I open a window at night to sleep, my allergies go crazy.This little cooler has been amazing to both drop the temperature and raise the humidity. Plus, the drier the air, the cooler it gets. Evap coolers dont work well in humid climate at all. I found that out when I lived in Texas.I put a thermometer directly in front of the grill of the EvaChill as it was blowing, and in my 85 degree room with 21% humidity the air coming out was 68 degrees! I put the cooler right next to our bed, on my side, blowing across us… and my husband had to pull up the covers because it was cold.I cannot say enough great things about this little machine. A full reservoir of water lasts about 3 hours in dry conditions. The tank is super easy to fill. It is cute and modern and small and innocuous. The fan is quiet and practically nonexistent compared to my air purifier. The highest setting makes quite a breeze, and the lowest is perfect to just humidify the air. It pumps out way more moisture than my cool mist humidifier. I LOVE not waking up with dry eyes.I keep it next to the bed, but it would be great in a hot office or cubicle, too. I have only had it a few weeks and I use it every night, so I’m hoping it lasts. Its like falling asleep in an ocean breeze. And a treat for anyone who suffers from hot flashes or night sweats. I LOVE EvaChill!
