Great little cooler for people not rooms
Unit arrived in an outer Amazon box that had a big hole in the side, thankfully this had not penetrated to the other box or caused any damage to the unit itself.I found the unit generates a lovely cooling breeze on the hot days but is in no way strong enough to cool down the room to any degree although this is stated in the manual and cannot really be expected from this type of cooler. When using the unit on low or medium settings it is reasonably quiet although it does get considerably louder on high settings, the noise from the pump when running is unnoticeable. When using the cooling function i place both of the ice packs in the bucket at the bottom to keep the water cool and pour the first 3 litres from a jug from the fridge so it starts out cold too. The 2nd jug full is from the tap but after running for a minute or so to come cool, this i pour into the top slowly so it means the filter is wet from the start before running the pump. I did notice when my unit arrived that the pump was not actually inside the bucket so if i had followed the instructions of just sliding it out part way to add water or adding it from the top it could have caused damage to the unit by running the pump out of water and i suspect that has happened to some units based on previous reviews of this model and the previous model. Once that was resecured though have had no problems since and the pump is very easy to take in and out to make getting the water tank out and over to a sink for emptying

    Great product

    Cooler
Very pleased with this Beldray Air Cooler. Don’t expect it to reduce the room temperature. However, you can make the internal fins ‘swing’ thereby allowing people sitting around the room to receive wafts of cool air. We tried it on medium to start with and found that it was no noisier than a straight forward fan. For the rest of the day and into the evening we run it on low and it is amazingly quiet. We tried the ‘cool’ setting and could notice a significant difference in the cooling temperature. Obviously if you leave it on that setting for longer then the water will diminish quicker. There is a handy window on the front so that you can see the level of the water. If you find it a little difficult to see that, we found that by shining a torch from the back of the unit it illuminated the water level very well. All in all we are very satisfied with it and it is preferable to sitting in front of a normal fan which just blasts air at you and all surrounding papers that scatter. Air conditioning it is NOT, however it is a cheaper and effective way to keep cool. Would recommend it.

    Saved me this summer
This device is small and light, yet effective.I used it throughout the summer on the low setting, occasionally turning on the cooler setting during the heatwaves. It made a huge difference when working from home and trying to sleep. The connection between the motor and the water tray is a bit fiddly – my friend bought this too and didn’t want to remove the tray because they were worried about breaking the connection to the motor. It is easy to remove but a bit tricky to lock back in.

Great little machine helping us survive heatwaves
Bought this in June and it arrived very quickly. Easy instructions. The fan is very good and we hardly hear it on low setting which is what we nearly always use as it’s efficient, anyway not very noisy on higher speeds, quieter than other fans we have. We add water to the tank and put in the supplies) frozen blocks to use tne cooler air option on very hot days. It doesn’t chill the air like an air conditioner would but it keeps us cool in our south facing lounge which is what we wanted it for. We’ve had it for several weeks and are now in the 2nd week of August with temps again up in the 30s, so very glad to have this great little machine. We’ll probably need to add water and put in frozen blocks to run the cooling fan option in the next few days as temps of 34-36C are forecast yet again!

Good cooler, but suffers mould easily
Good cooler, the dog loves it, and quiet even when it’s circulating water. Easy to set up and easy to move. Unfortunately, it seems to develop mould in the water reservoirvery quickly — less than a day of not being run and it had fine green sludge circulating and a stale, mouldy smell. It can be taken apart to clean, but the honeycomb that the water runs through and over to cool incoming air is a nightmare to try and clean.

I must have a defective one
I keep seeing all these great reviews for this product, which makes me think that mine must be defective. It’s absolutely great at cooling the air when it’s blowing right at you, but it doesn’t cool the room. The ice packs don’t do a great deal, like it’s not a noticeable difference when you add them.My main issue with this air cooler is that every day, after it’s been on for a while, it starts blasting out this horrible smell. It smells like a dirty fish tank. I don’t know what’s causing it. I’ve tried changing the water twice daily, but it doesn’t stop it. The only way to get rid of the smell is to take the blue filter (which they don’t sell replacements for) out of the back, and cleaning it with soapy water and a toothbrush. In my opinion, which is based on the particular cooler that I received, this thing is a huge waste of money.
