Takes a little getting used to doing the first wheel. I was concerned having fitted the rim, there would be an air leak between the tyre and the rim itself, and there was a leak where the two rim ends meet. I pulled out both ends and applied a compound gasket seal using a tube of it in a gun such as you would use to apply mastic around a bath. That took care of the leak. The glue supplied cured very quickly and stopped me gluing the two ends, so, I didn’t use it but only to affix the covering cap to conceal the joint.On the second tyre, I first applied the gasket seal in the gap between the rim and the tyre all around the circumference. It acts as a lubricant, so I never used soapy liquid. This worked well. I did not use the glue but only for the capping. No leaks. Looks a treat !! Best rims yet. I’ve tried the others. They come off or they expand and come away. I like Alloygaitors as there’s little chance they will detach as they are sunk inside the alloy rim. The second tyre took me around 30 mins. I took it off the car and placed it on a work bench – much better to work with.

I was initially impressed with the concept and the ease of installation of the AlloyGators. However, I have encountered a recurring issue that I feel compelled to bring to your attention. The protective strips frequently come off the tires, often within a short period of driving. This not only defeats the purpose of the protection but also results in additional damage to the alloys and the alloygator during the removal process.Despite following the installation guidelines meticulously, the problem persists. As a member of a passionate car community, the protection and aesthetic maintenance of our vehicles are of utmost importance. I believe that many within our group, who are potential customers, would benefit from a resolution to this issue.Could you please provide any advice or solutions to prevent the AlloyGators from coming off regularly? Additionally, if there are any specific installation tips or recommended practices that might help in ensuring a more secure fit, I would greatly appreciate it.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and assistance.

Good product but when you inflate tyre they sit uneven on rim
â¦meaning they donât fit consistently flush between the tyre and alloy rim – protects the wheel rims from kerb damage though and look OK. Definitely better than the “stick on” protectors.

Upon opening the box the only instructions were in French. No English instructions included.After searching the internet I located an English version.It mentions an Alloy Gator template to determine if the rim protectors can be installed.To quote the instructionsInsert the end of the AlloyGator template by inserting the green end first and placing the colors side up. If the edge of the wheel ends in the green part of the template, the AlloyGator protection can be installed. If the wheel edge ends in the red part, we recommend that you do not install our product.No such template was included so unless I attempt to install I have no idea if these can be used in my rims or not.

I acquired this product specifically for my car’s rims. I consulted with three acquaintances who work as mechanics, hoping they would assist in the installation. However, they all expressed their reservations and declined to proceed. Determined, I then approached two different auto body shops, seeking their expertise. Unfortunately, the first establishment refused to undertake the task, while the second agreed and proceeded with the installation. Regrettably, upon lowering my vehicle from the lift, one of the guards dislodged. Concerned about potential damage while driving, the technicians promptly removed the guards. Given that the return period has now elapsed and there is no local support line available, I find myself out of $120.
