No more bits of rubber littering the garden, which is a massive plus in my book (and the environment’s). They come in a nifty storage bag too, making clean-up and storage a breezeâmuch appreciated after a long session of fun under the sun.These balloons are sturdy yet soft enough that when the inevitable happens and a balloon hits someone a bit too closely, it doesn’t hurt. Trust me, being on the receiving end of a traditional water balloon can sting, so these softer alternatives are a relief!There are a couple of drawbacks, though. Firstly, they don’t quite mimic the satisfying SPLAT of traditional water balloons. They bounce more than burst, which can be a little anticlimactic. The balloons are easy to fill and automatically seal, which means more playtime and less hassle. We’ve used them at the pool, the beach, and during backyard playdates. The vibrant colours are a big plus, and they are indeed very durable.However, I’m giving these water bombs 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons. First, while they are self-sealing, sometimes the balloons don’t fill completely or evenly, which requires a bit of adjustment to get right. Also, while the silicone is soft and safe, it can sometimes retain a bit too much water, making them heavier than expected, which was a slight concern for the younger kids.Despite these minor issues, these reusable water bombs have been a fantastic addition to our summer needs. They are environmentally friendly, safe for the kids, and provide endless fun. They are definitely a step up from traditional single-use water balloons.

Good fun on a summer’s day – if you don’t mind getting wet!
These are good fun for the summer. We had some magnetic ones last year, and I think they are a superior design – easier for young children to fill and throw – but these do the job when filled. Good fun when the paddling pool is out – everyone will get wet!
