Georgetown Lands Mary-Stuart Hawkins As Newest Verbal Pledge
NEW COMMIT: Georgetown University has secured a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from Mary-Staurt Hawkins of Richmond, Virginia.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgetown University! I would like to thank my parents, friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point. I’d also like to thank the coaches at Georgetown for giving me this opportunity! HOYA SAXA!!”
Hawkins is a talented distance swimmer and 400 IM with strong 200s as well. She does her club swimming with Nova of Virginia Aquatics and last competed at the Virginia Long Course Championships where she won the 400m IM and placed fifth in the 1500m free.
She also took seventh in the mile at NCSA Spring Championships after earning bronze in both the 1000 and 1650 as Virginia Seniors.
Her best times include:
- 500 free – 4:58.50
- 1000 free – 10:06.78
- 1650 free – 16:45.65
- 200 back – 2:02.46
- 200 breast – 2:22.17
- 200 IM – 2:04.65
- 400 IM – 4:21.38
Currently a senior at St. Catherine’s School, Hawkins was the runner-up in the 200 IM and 500 free at the 2024 VISAA State Championship. She won the 500 free and got bronze in the 200 IM during her sophomore season.
Georgetown finished third in the team standings at the 2024 Big East Conference Championships.
